Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As some of you had noticed, we have struggled for a few months with a faulty membership application. This has now been fixed and we would like to welcome our new members and remind everyone that your member page in Architects for Peace offers you a simple an effective way to create a profile (see examples on the left). This profile can also direct the visitor to your own website or blog.
We invite to to update your profile and why not, spice it up with 1-2 images! If you forgot your password, please go to the members' page under "lost your password?"
As if the issue with the membership application were not bad enough, our internet web server became a target of a mindless hack attack. This attack left us and some hundred of others, without websites or emails for more than a week. Note that no confidential data was lost or exposed; any information related to your yearly contribution is managed directly by the bank (Westpac) and they were not affected.
And this reminds me that this is the time of the year when we ask for your financial contribution, which help us to pay a few bills. We welcome and thank you for you support.
Regards,
The Architects for Peace Team

membership fees
Dear Members of Architects for Peace
In July 2009 Architects for Peace changed the date upon which membership contributions fall due. Contributions for all renewing members should be paid annually in July. If you haven't contributed with your membership in the last 12 months now is the time to do so.
The committee notes that in comparison to other organisations our membership contributions are quite modest and have not been raised for several years. Because all our work is done by volunteers, our running cost are kept to a minimum, yet, they add up. Please visit our website for information on the range of activities and services that we provide.
We encourage all members to renew their membership and support this organisation with the appropriate membership contribution via the link on the Arch-Peace website. Contributions are only required for members from OECD countries (listed below). For students the fee is AU$15, members AU$35 and business members AU$190. There is no contribution required for affiliated members from non-OECD countries.
Many thanks for your ongoing support.
OECD countries currently include: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America.

Membership fees due
As of July 2009, Architects for Peace has changed the date upon which membership fees fall due. From this year onwards fees for all renewing members must be paid annually in July. If you haven't paid your membership in the last 12 months now is the time to pay!
In recognition of this policy change, the Committee of Management has agreed that all members who are financially current as of 30 June this year will be granted full financial membership for 2009/10.
Any new member who joins Arch-Peace in the period from 1 January to 30 June each year may request a pro-rata membership fee by writing to the Treasurer. The committee notes that in comparison to other organisations our membership fees are quite modest and have not been raised for several years.
