Invitation to join the arch-peace news team

This is an invitation to interested arch-peace members to join the arch-peace news team.

How do we work:

  • The team is selective as we need members who are willing to commit themselves to a schedule, that while not too demanding requires consistency.
  • The team (in order to make it workable) consists of 8 to 12 people.
  • We are looking for members who enjoy writing, commenting and who preferably have some previous experience in doing so. English is the main language, however writing in other languages is also encouraged.
  • We have comments and articles aiming to a more broad and consistent coverage of news (projects, issues, critique…) in different parts of the world and from a social perspective. In other words, less emphasis on form and more on content.
  • Neither, articles or news need to be academic in style. However they must be original and clearly referenced when quoting or citing someone else’s work--the same applies when using images and any photographic material.
  • It is anticipated that members of the news and editorial teams will became become involved in the Steering Committee of Architects for Peace.

3 types of contributions:

  • Comments: no minimum length, comments on anything and anywhere in the arch-peace website.
  • Posts can be as short as 1 or 2 paragraphs. They can comment on other articles, projects, architecture, urbanism, planning, development... books, meetings… etc.
  • Articles are longer than posts, 1500 to 3000 words max.

Similarly to other work undertaken by arch-peace, this team will work on the basis of voluntarism, trust and common goals. This is about learning and getting to know each other by doing. So far this has been not only successful but also very rewarding.

Practical aspects:

  • Each news team member has access to the arch-peace news blog as an author.
  • A set minimum contribution of: 2 comments per month, 1 post per month and 1 article every 6 months.
  • Familiarity with blogging is highly desirable .
  • After a consistent number of contributions, we will publicly acknowledge members of the news team.
  • News members participate in a Google group in order to discuss matters pertaining coordination, schedules and articles before publishing.

Write to us and let us know if you are interested in being part of this news team. Feel free suggest any improvements to the points above. Send us an email to with your details.

Looking forward to the news team!
